I’m a creature of habit, I find something I love and I stick with it. That said, certain occasions scream (measured) experimentation and for me, New Years Eve is one of them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not conservative with my look (at least I don’t think I am), but I’m a look-loyalist–I think I just made that up. Here are some of the things I’m thinking about trying this New Years Eve that are either new or a different flavor of something that is already tried-and-true.
Brocade: I usually do sequins for NYE–a blazer, a dress (not together)–but this year I’m going with a black and gold brocade mini-dress that has (OMG) full-length sleeves

Ankle Straps: I live in heels, so I for a special time that I rock a hell to be a twist on the basic pump. This year I’m digging ankle straps. They support your foot (shhh, don’t tell anyone) and also are super sexy.

Hoops: I treated myself earlier this year to a pair of gold inside-out hoops and I love them. You can dress them up or down. I also just bought a pair of sterling, big mamajamas and am having a moment with those guys too now.

Boxy Clutches: I’ve long admired hard clutches, but never actually owned one. I always was concerned it would clash with my sequined attire (although I’ve seen others pull it off amazingly well) but now that I’m donning brocade, my confidence is up so I’m on the hunt!

Beauty With Sparkle: Because my dress will now have it’s usual glittery-glow, I’m going to be a little less matte with my beauty palate–while still being careful not to go overboard. I haven’t yet decided if it will be my eyes or lips yet but here’s what I’ve already stocked up on.
